In 2020, when surveyed on the eve of the Assumption, more than a third of regularly practicing Catholics considered that communion meant receiving the host, the body, and the blood of the Christ. Another 16 percent gave an answer that was not among the propositions, or did not give one. 14 percent of Catholics who practiced occasionally considered communion as an agreement with the principles of Christ, as an act of faith.
