Nollywood is the main Nigerian movie production and releases most of the titles in English-speaking West Africa. Despite the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the film industry in Nigeria did not stop. On the contrary, it even increased the number of productions significantly in 2020 and 2021. In the first three months of 2021, Nollywood produced and censored 416 movies, while in the second quarter of 2021 the number of new productions reached 635. During this period, the most popular locations to shoot Nollywood movies were the cities of Lagos, Onitsha, and Abuja. In Lagos, in particular, 234vtitles were shot in the second quarter of 2021.
