As of 2022, automotive gas oil (AGO), used in road vehicles with diesel engines, was the most consumed petroleum product in Ghana. More than 1.62 million metric tons of this oil were consumed in the country. Furthermore, the consumption volume of premium motor spirit (PMS) and liquefied petroleum gas (butane) reached around 1.59 million and 305,000 metric tons, respectively. Overall, a total of around 4.22 million metric tons of petroleum products were consumed in Ghana that year.
