The value of global debt increased from 285 trillion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2022 to 307 trillion U.S. dollars in the second quarter of 2023. Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, global debt has skyrocketed. The value of global debt in Q2 2021 was more than three times global GDP.
