Feed barley represented the largest cultivated area of fodder crops in Morocco as of the 2020/2021 season, at 26 percent. Moreover, alfalfa and oat forage covered 21 percent and 18 percent of the total land cover of fodder crops, respectively. Barley and durum wheat covered 34 percent and 22 percent of the total autumn cereal crop area, respectively. Overall, the worked surface of fodder crops in the country extended over 513 thousand hectares in the said year, of which 34 percent was irrigated.
