As of 2020, the number of international migrants in Africa exceeded 25 million. The majority were aged 25-29 years, corresponding to around 2.9 million. The age group 30-34 years was the second most numerous, counting 2.77 million individuals. In general, migrants in Africa were young. The number of migrants belonging to the age group of 50 years and older was, on the other hand, significantly lower.
