Kenya's banking industry registered a substantial improvement in return to equity in 2022. ROE increased to 26.3 percent, up from 22 percent in the previous year, which indicated that Kenyan banks were making less profit. ROE is calculated by dividing net income by shareholder equity and shows how efficiently assets are used to generate profit.
