According to a survey from 2020, 35 percent of the respondents in Singapore preferred a hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) for their next vehicle purchase. In comparison, 16 percent of the respondents in the Philippines and Vietnam prefer HEVs. Most of the respondents in surveyed Southeast Asian countries prefer non-electric vehicles as of September 2020. Thailand has the largest share of respondents who prefer battery electric vehicles (BEV) for their next vehicle purchase.
