Asked whether they had started using cashless payments for amounts they used to pay in cash as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in a survey conducted in July 2020, more than 65 percent of the respondents in Japan agreed at least to some extent. Around 10.4 percent of the respondents stated they had not changed their payment behavior.
