In 2019, the number of Ghanaian emigrants exceeded that of immigrants coming to Ghana, representing a negative net migration of 503,845. Moreover, both the emigrant and immigrant stocks increased annually over the years observed. Ghanaians largely emigrated to countries within the African region, particularly Nigeria.
