Major sporting events are about much more than just what happens on the field. Thousands of fans gather in stadiums and millions more watch back home with friends and families. The party atmosphere created during such events sometimes goes hand-in-hand with recreational drug use. During a 2021 survey in the United States, around 41 percent of MMA/UFC spectators admitted to using marijuana while watching fights.
