The growth in digital recorded music and podcast revenues was expected to increase from 0.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2019 in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region post the COVID-19 lockdown measures, to reach 0.5 billion U.S. dollars by 2024. In 2024, 93 percent of revenues were expected to come from digital recorded music, while seven percent was expected to come from podcast advertising. Podcast advertising in the region was expected to grow rapidly with a cumulative annual growth rate of 24.4 percent in that period.
