In 2020, less than 40 percent of startup founders in the United States reported having at least 12 months of runway. Only 38 percent of male founders reported having at least one year of runway, and 26 percent of female founders reported at least one year of runway. This indicates that majority of both male and female founders across the U.S. in 2020 reported not having funds to run operations beyond the next year.
