To many gamers, League of Legends, developed and published by Riot Games in 2009, is a very familiar multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game title. In 2013, the first eSports tournament - League of Legends Pro League (LPL) was founded in China and has become the most watched eSports events in the world. About 85 percent of the surveyed eSports fans in China thought that the LPL was organized very professionally and the competitiveness level was high, as per results in early 2020.
