Daily alcohol consumption tended to decline in France in recent years. This trend seems to be confirmed among the French population aged 55 years and older. Nevertheless, the share of younger people drinking alcohol daily, even if it is to a lesser extent, increased between 2014 and 2020. For example, the proportion of French aged between 35 and 44 years drinking alcohol every day rose from 6.3 percent in 2014 to 8.6 percent in 2020.
