Chocolate imports constitute a considerable portion in the trade balance of Morocco. Both in 2018 and 2019, chocolate products imports amounted to about 14 thousand metric tons. This indicated an increase in the demand for chocolate products compared to previous years, as the imports of such products averaged around seven thousand metric tons each year. The least amounts of chocolate products imported to Morocco between 2010 and 2019 were recorded in 2010, as they did not exceed six thousand metric tons that year. Compared to the country's export of chocolate products, Morocco's imports of such products are three to five times higher on average.
