In a September 2020 survey among adults in the United States, 32 percent of Millennial parents said that the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic had made them more interested in purchasing a home compared with 26 percent of GenX parents.

In the United States, the 2020 homeownership rate reached 65.8 percent.

Data were weighted to approximate a target sample of adults based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, and region. Results from the full survey have a margin of error of plus or minus 1 percentage points.

The original survey question was formulated as: "Has the COVID-19 pandemic (coronavirus) influenced your interest in buying a home in the future?"

This respondents were 373 Millennial parents, 228 Gen X parents and 156 Baby Boomer parents.
