In 2022, military spending in Algeria amounted to 9.15 billion U.S. dollars. The country led the ranking of military expenditures in North Africa. Morocco and Egypt followed with around five billion and 4.7 billion U.S. dollars, respectively. Moreover, Algeria ranked first in Africa in terms of defense spending budget.
