In fiscal year 2022, the Indian government spent more than 124.7 billion Indian rupees on the space sector. It was a significant increase in comparison with the previous year. The planned budget for 2023 would reach 125 billion rupees. Indian Space Research Organization, the premier institute for the space program in India, was planning its first unmanned flight on October 21, 2023.
