According to a survey by Rakuten Insight on online travel agencies (OTA) conducted in June 2023, 44 percent of Indian respondents booked their accommodation weeks in advance using an OTA. When it comes to more short-term bookings, differences between the age groups can be noted. Whereas nine percent respondents from 25 to 34 years booked accommodation immediately before they needed it, about 16 percent of respondents older than 55 years did the same.
Online travel agencies are online platforms like Agoda, Skyscanner, Booking.com, or TripAdvisor that offer a wide range of tourism services.

16-24 years: 2,149 respondents
25-34 years: 3,685 respondents
35-44 years: 1,943 respondents
45-54 years: 668 respondents
55+ years: 324 respondents
