Share of duck imports to Singapore 2018, by country of origin
In 2018, 94 percent of the duck that was imported to Singapore came from the neighboring country, Malaysia. Duck ranked fifth in terms of meat type consumed per capita in Singapore. Being a highly urbanized country, Singapore has to resort to urban farming and the use of modern biotechnologies to reach their goal of producing 30 percent of its own food supply by 2030 in order to improve its food security.
