According to a survey carried out in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2020, there were significant negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown on access to care services for people living with eye conditions. Over 35 percent of respondents who were suffering from cataracts reported that access to care services had become somewhat worse, and a further 28 percent advised that access became a lot worse.
