As of October 2020, TikTok's penetration rate was expected to reach over 31 percent in 2020, up from 17.3 percent the previous year. The penetration rate of TikTok was projected to further increase the following years, competing with Snapchat by 2024. Snapchat and TikTok were forecast to have penetration rates of 39.6 percent and 39.3 percent, respectively. Instagram was expected to remain the most used app out of the three, with a 57.5 percent penetration rate by 2024.
