In Morocco, the rural workforce without a degree in 2020 was more than the workforce with a degree, representing 52.5 percent (approximately 2.6 million people) of the whole active population in the rural areas. The number of active people with a degree also represented 44.2 percent of the rural labor force, as of the same year. The rate of employment based on this criteria proportionally decreased in 2020, compared to 2019.
Generally, the number of degree-holders in Morocco increased over the last seven years, although the rate of unemployment in the country has left most graduates without a career.
