According to a survey conducted by Rakuten Insight on online travel agencies (OTA) in June 2023, 56 percent of respondents from Hong Kong purchased flight, bus, train, or ship tickets or rented vehicles on online travel agencies several months before their trip. This sentiment was also shared by respondents from Hong Kong when it came to booking travel accomodation. Compared to respondents from mainland China, people fom Hong Kong made their travel purchases much longer in advance.
