According to a survey on social media influencers conducted by Rakuten Insight in May 2023, approximately 46 percent of Indonesian respondents stated that they had purchased products endorsed by influencers because they had wanted to buy the item, regardless of who had been promoting it. The same survey found that the majority of Indonesian respondents had purchased an item or product because it had been endorsed by an influencer.
