As of September 2020, 68 percent of the Indonesian respondents who belonged to the upper class, were willing to take the COVID-19 vaccination if it were available. Indonesia, which has recorded over one million coronavirus cases, started its vaccine rollout on January 13, 2021, with the president Joko Widodo being the first recipient. Unlike most other countries which focused on vaccinating their older citizens first, Indonesia prioritized vaccination for people aged between 18 and 59 years old.
