In 2021, Haiti and Venezuela reported the lowest influenza type b vaccine coverage among one-year-old children in Latin America and the Caribbean. As of that year, approximately half of the Haitian infants had received three doses of the Haemophilus influenzae type B vaccine, a significantly lower share compared to the nearly 100 percent of children vaccinated against the disease in Costa Rica. Meanwhile, Venezuela was the region's country with the lowest coverage of this vaccine among the general population that year.
