During an online survey fielded in Chile in November 2020, around 68 percent of respondents who preferred to do Christmas shopping online said that avoiding exposure to COVID-19 was one of the reasons why they would rather make purchases through the web. Meanwhile, 67 percent of internet users surveyed mentioned avoiding rows and protocols related to the pandemic. According to another study, 29 percent of Chilean e-commerce users prefer to shop online on marketplaces.
