Assets under management (AUM) of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) listed in Europe increased by more than thirty-fold between 2005 and 2022. While the total AUM of European ETFs amounted to 57 billion U.S. dollars in 2005, this number had grown to roughly 1.8 trillion U.S. dollars by the end of April 2024.
