According to a survey on Chinese New year in the COVID-19 pandemic, 47 percent of respondents in Singapore stated that they would give out red packets, or ang baos, with the same amount as usual for Lunar New Year despite the COVID-19 pandemic situation this year. Red packets filled with money, or ang baos, are traditionally given during the Chinese New Year festivities. Ang baos are given to children and unmarried adults.
