In 2021, apples ranked as one of the most consumed fresh fruits by Spanish households. However, the consumption of this fruit has been decreasing, it went from 503 million kilograms registered in 2015 to approximately 397 million kilograms in 2022.
This trend changed slightly in 2020, when household consumption of apples amounted to roughly 505 million kilograms.

The data were collected from the "Panel de consumo alimentario", a study by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food included in the National Statistical Plan and prepared from data provided by the company Taylor Nelson Sofres SAU.
