In 2018, the source wanted to determine the distribution of health insurance expenditure for the treatment of mental disability in France according to the type of treatment. In that year, more than 200 million euros were allocated to ambulatory care, and more than 400 million euros were granted to hospital expenses.

The source adds the following information: "Algorithm for defining pathology: Individuals with a Long Term Disorder in year n with ICD-10 codes of mental impairment, and/or individuals hospitalized for the same reason - in a COD (primary diagnosis (PD) or related diagnosis (RD)) and/or psychiatric (PD or associated diagnosis (AD)) health care facility - in years n to n-1."
