In order to measure the extent of inequalities in the distribution of domestic tasks between the two genders in France, the source had asked French women in 2019 who was responsible for the purchase of household appliances in their households.
Considering the example of vacuum cleaners, it seems that the distribution of the charge related to the purchase of household appliances is more egalitarian within households in which women have a higher level of education. Indeed, about two thirds (66 percent) of highly graduated women were responsible for the purchase of vacuum cleaners in their households, compared to 75 percent of women with a technical college qualification.
