In order to measure the extent of inequalities in the distribution of domestic tasks between the two genders in France, the source had asked French women in 2019 who was responsible for the purchase of household appliances in their households.
Considering the example of vacuum cleaners, it seems that the distribution of the charge related to the purchase of household appliances is more egalitarian within younger households. Indeed, less than half (47 percent) of the women aged under 30 were responsible for the purchase of vacuum cleaners in their households, compared to 80 percent of women aged over 70.
