COVID-19 has negatively impacted financing conditions, economic growth, and appetite for mergers and acquisitions among corporate executives in Europe. Almost three quarters of European corporate executives surveyed in the second and third quarters of 2020 cited the pandemic as the reason they weren't considering M&A at the time. Many M&A stakeholders said that M&A wasn't part of their corporate strategy for 2021.
