Impact of COVID-19 on projected real GDP growth in Lesotho 2019-2022
Based on estimates conducted in December 2020, the real GDP in Lesotho contracted by 5.2 percent in 2020, which follows the same trend as the majority of the economies on the African continent due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Nevertheless, the economic contraction is expected to not hold for long and the real GDP is expected to grow by 4.1 percent and 4.4 percent in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
