As of December 2019, Mexico City reported more than 24.3 million active deposit accounts. Meanwhile, there were nearly eight million deposit accounts opened in the state of Guanajuato. According to a survey carried out in Mexico in 2018, more than 13 million respondent adults owned a savings account at a financial institution.
