As of March 2020, approximately 38 percent of respondents in Vietnam believed that closing down unregulated wildlife markets would very effectively help to prevent future pandemics similar to the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, 35 percent of survey participants rated this measure as somewhat effective, while two percent regarded it as not effective at all.
