Traveling is the best way to to spend the retirement years, according to over 70 percent of tourists surveyed in four Latin American countries in 2019. That year, Brazil registered the largest share of respondents agreeing with that statement, with 77 percent. By the end of the past decade, retirement readiness in the Portuguese speaking country worsened in relation to mid-2010s.

The survey was conducted among adults who had taken a trip in the 12 months prior to the survey, or were planning to take a trip in the 12 months following it.
