According to a survey on mobile dating apps conducted by Rakuten Insight in February 2022, the main reason respondents in the Philippines used mobile dating apps were due to boredom. This was particularly true among those aged 16 to 24. In comparison, 48 percent of respondents aged 55 years and older said they used such apps because of its convenience.
