The main reason why European businesses entered the Russian market was the high market potential, according to a survey conducted in April and May 2021. In total, 95 percent of respondents named that factor as important or very important while assessing Russia's market attractiveness. The second-highest rated motivation to start operating in Russia was the positive development of the market.
