According to a survey conducted between November and December 2019 about diversity at the workplace in Japan, encountering no disadvantages in their career path due to their gender or sexual identity was of utmost importance to the majority of respondents when asked what it takes to create a LGBT-friendly work environment. Since power abuse and sexual harassment are common forms of workplace bullying experienced by employees in Japan, having a work environment without those issues was considered LGBT-friendly by the second largest majority of respondents.
