International tourism spending in Guatemala 2010-2020
In general, the expenditure of international tourists in Guatemala experienced a moderate but constant growth in the past decade, despite a slight decrease in 2019. In 2020, the decline was above 75 percent as a result of the restrictions on travel and tourism worldwide. That year, the total spending of foreign visitors traveling in the Central American country amounted to less than 300 million U.S. dollars.
