As of December 2022, the total amount of plutonium owned by Tokyo Electric Power Co., Ltd., also known as TEPCO, amounted to approximately 13.63 thousand kilograms, making up the largest amount of plutonium owned by electric companies in Japan. The majority of plutonium owned by TEPCO was stored overseas, mostly in France and the United Kingdom.
