Distribution of merchandise exports from Africa, by destination 2019
Developing economies were the main destination of merchandise exports from Africa in 2019, accounting for 53 percent of the total. In terms of value, 252 billion U.S. dollars were generated by exports to developing countries in America, Asia and Oceania, and also in Africa itself. In its turn, merchandise exports to developed economies corresponded to 45 percent of the total.
