In 2019, more than two thirds of police violence complaint victims in Brazil were men. In that same year, persons of color (brown-skinned and black) accounted for more than 29 percent of victims. Nevertheless, the ethnicity of over half of police violence complaint victims was not reported.

Figures refers to the number of complaints received via the "Disque 100" hotline, a platform for the report of human rights violations, of which police violence is included.
