As of august 2020, Brazil's southeast region concentrated the majority of the retail technology (RetailTech) startups, with a share of 65.2 percent. The southern region followed, with 24.2 percent of the companies. The Brazilian southeast region encompasses the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Espíritu Santo, and Minas Gerais.
As of that time, nearly 72 percent of the RetailTech startups in this South American country focused on B2B solutions.
