With nearly 1,600 applications for asylum, the highest number of asylum seekers in Norway in 2022 came from Syria. That year, the second highest number of asylum seekers came from Ukraine, amounting to 830 applications. Afghans followed in third. Note that Ukrainian refugees arriving via the EU Temporary Protection Directive are not included in the statistic.
