Italy: wage growth rate 2019-2023

In September 2023, contractual hourly wages and salaries in Italy grew by 3 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year. In December of the same year, hourly wages and salaries in Italy increased by more than 7 percent compared to December 2022. This was due to a state administration's decision to pay an allowance to permanent public employees waiting for the renewal of their collective labor agreement in 2024.
